“Hunting Camp in April”

Irises as far as the eye can see stretch to the horizon almost hiding the tiny hunting camp compound tethered together on Alligator Bayou just south of Amelia, Louisiana.  The landscape is totally different from that of the fall when shots pop against the cold stillness aimed at waterfowl flying   into the ponds for feed on their annual migration south.     April is the month of irises and quiet on the bayou.   It is the season when God puts an exclamation on the marsh to say “All is right with the world!  This I MY creation! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!”
