The Roman Candy wagon selling foot long taffy is synonymous with New Orleans right along with the Lucky Dog hotdog vendors another favorite of mine. My fondest memories of a day at the Audubon Zoo are of standing in line in the shade of the old oaks waiting to get the delicious pink or chocolate rope of taffy.
